J. MacDonald commissioned Winnipeg
architect, H.S. Griffith to design the Oxford Hotel in
1905. A. Gray was responsible for the construction at an
estimated cost of $40,000.00.
The brick and stone structure featured a modest interior
with a main floor divided into a rotunda, office and large
dining room. The 52 bedrooms were designed to receive natural
light at all times.
